300 People of Panggang Island Receive Food Packages Aid

As many as 300 recipients (mustahik) from Panggang Island, North Seribu Islands, received food packages aid from National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), and Seribu Islands Regency administration in the framework of the Inspirational Ramadan Expedition on Pramuka Island.

Seribu Island Vice Regent, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan appreciated the activities initiated by Baznas and TNI AL. This charity was deemed very positive because it could improve the welfare of Panggang Island residents.

"We are very grateful for this Ramadan Expedition activity. Of course, it is very useful for them. We make sure the recipients have been selected and need it," he said, Saturday (4/8).

Kembangan Selatan Residents Get Food Package Assistance

He deemed that it could indirectly advance the tourism sector. Because, when the participants return to their respective places, they can inform the beauty of the Seribu Islands tourism to their families, colleagues, and relatives.

"It's not only beneficial for the community, but through this activity, it can increase tourism in Seribu Islands," he expressed.

Baznas Deputy I, Mohammad Imdadun Rahmat said the Ramadan expedition was an activity of a lightning boarding school aboard the Indonesia Warship (KRI) Dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992 which was attended by 300 high school students from Jakarta.

"From April 6 to 9, there are various religious activities such as congregational prayers, tarawih prayers, study religious knowledge, and received inspirational supplies from the speakers," he explained.

There are also other activities ranging from distributing 300 Ramadan food packages, cleaning the prayer room and mosque to the beach, health services for residents, and planting 300 mangrove plants.

"We want to say thank you to the Seribu Island Regency administration. Hopefully, it can continue to run well and this activity can also be carried out on other islands," he hoped.

Aisyah (42), a resident of RT 01/01, Panggang Island thanked for the aid. Moreover, the price of necessities in the market is increasing.

"I represent parents who are sick at home. This aid is very helpful for the needs of breaking the fast and sahur (predawn meal)," he stated.
